AI Front Desk for contractors
AI Front Desk sends a text in seconds when you cannot pick up, with a real next step.
AI Front Desk is an automatic text sent when your business misses a call. For a contractor it should name the company, acknowledge the missed call, and offer a real booking time or a yes/no reply. It does not replace answering the phone when you can, and it is not a license to promise a truck you do not have.
When it earns its keep
You are on a job, driving, or closed. The caller will not listen to a two-minute greeting. A text they can answer with a thumb is the difference between a conversation and a second dial to the next listing.
Form fills need the same treatment. A web form at 8pm is the same leak as a missed call. The text should not wait until someone opens a laptop.
The words
Keep it short. “Hey, sorry we missed you! This is [Your Company]. Want to book a free estimate? Pick a time here: [your real link].” If they pick a time, confirm it: “Booked: Tue 9:00 AM.” If that time was never free, do not offer it.
Safety lines belong in the trades that need them. Plumbing: shut the water off if they can do it safely. Electrical: if they smell burning, leave and call emergency services. Garage doors: do not wind the spring. Those lines are the useful part, not a slogan.
What it will not do
It will not close a job by itself. It will not make a bad review disappear. It will not fix a calendar that is fiction. And it should not keep texting people who did not ask to hear from you. The first text is a reply to their call or their form. Later marketing texts are a different consent.
This is not legal advice. Identify the business, honor STOP, and have someone who knows the rules look at the wording before you turn a campaign on. The demo on the Stravex home page, when texting is connected, is one message from Stravex, only after a checkbox.
Questions
Can I use the same text for every trade?
The shape is the same: we missed you, here is a real next step. The safety line and the kind of appointment change. A welder booking a look at drawings is not a plumber telling someone to shut the water off.
Is this the same as answering the phone?
No. If you can pick up, pick up. The text is for the calls you cannot take and the hours you are closed.
