How to get more leads for a service business

Before you buy more ads, catch the leads you already get: the site, the AI Front Desk, and the Google profile.

To get more leads for a roofing, HVAC, or plumbing business, first stop losing the ones you already have. Make the website ask for the job, text back on missed calls and forms, and fill out the Google Business Profile. Buy more ads after that bucket holds water.

Start with the leak, not the ad

Ads, truck wraps, and referrals all send people to the same place: a call or a page. If that call hits voicemail and the page does not say what to do, more traffic is more waste. Count a week of missed calls and form fills before you raise a budget. The calculator on the Stravex home page is a way to put your own numbers on that. It is arithmetic, not a promise.

The profile people see first

For a lot of local jobs, the Google Business Profile is the ad. Fill in the real categories, the services you offer, the hours you keep, and photos of work you did. Ask every completed job for a review. Do not filter out the unhappy customers, and do not pay for stars. Google prohibits fake and incentivized reviews.

The click from that profile should land on a page that matches it. If the profile says 24-hour emergency and the site says nothing about nights, you created the bad review yourself.

Then the reply

Roofing, HVAC, and plumbing leads often arrive when you cannot talk. The text-back and a booking link are how those three trades keep the lead without hiring a night receptionist you do not need. Offer only the windows a person can make.

Ads after that

Search ads make sense when the page and the text can catch the click. They are a later Stravex offer for that reason. If you turn them on first, you will pay to learn that nobody answered.

Questions

Does this apply outside roofing, HVAC, and plumbing?

Yes. Med spas, landscapers, pest control, garage doors, electricians, detailers, RV repair, and welders lose the lead in the same gap. The words in the text change. The speed does not.

Where is the statistic about how many leads contractors miss?

We are not publishing one. The studies people quote are usually about web leads at other kinds of companies, or they are vendor marketing. Use your own missed-call count.
